There are some places you visit that immediately feel special. This campground was one of them. From the moment we arrived, we knew this wasn't just another campground. The family who recently purchased the property truly pours their hearts into making every guest feel welcome. Throughout the weekend, we saw multiple members of the family working together, greeting campers, and making sure everyone had a wonderful experience. Their hospitality is something you simply don't find everywhere. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, peaceful streams, towering trees, and abundant wildlife, this campground gives you the opportunity to slow down and appreciate God's incredible creation. It's one of those places where lifelong family memories are made, and we already can't wait to go back.
Unlimited Fun with the Activity Pass:
One of the best decisions we made was purchasing the 2-day Activity Band for every member of our family. It gave us unlimited access to many of the attractions throughout the weekend, making it well worth the investment.
Here were some of our favorite activities. https://sycamorespringswhitetails.com/daily-activity-pass
Hiking Through Nature
The hiking trails were absolutely beautiful. As we explored, we listened to the peaceful sounds of water trickling through the streams, spotted deer in the woods, and even walked by the bison. It was the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy nature together.
One thing that made the hikes even more enjoyable was my new pair of Brooks Adrenaline running shoes. If you're like me and need a little extra support—especially if you're trying to avoid plantar fasciitis—these have been a game changer. My husband has a wide foot so he loves under armour shoes because they are available in wide.

Roller Skating
This campground is home to the largest wooden-floor roller skating rink in Kansas, and our kids absolutely loved it. If your children already have their own roller skates, bring them along. Ours did! But don't worry if you don't own any—the campground includes skate rentals with the Activity Band. Don't forget socks for everyone! Crew socks work best to protect ankles from skates.

Mini Golf
Family mini golf always brings out our competitive side. Whether you're keeping score or just playing for fun, it's a great way to spend an afternoon together—and, of course, the winner earns bragging rights until the next family vacation.
Petting Zoo
The petting zoo was another family favorite. Bring a few quarters or small bills so you can purchase food for the animals. We fed goats, ducks, rabbits, a potbelly pig, and even visited the horses. Watching the kids interact with the animals was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Bike Trails
The campground has numerous bike trails connecting many of the attractions. Having bikes made it easy—and fun—to get around.
We rode to:
The fishing pond
Splash pad
Roller rink (for delicious ice cream!)
Bubble station
Pickleball courts
Museum
Fishing
The fishing pond was perfect for families. It's catch-and-release fishing, making it a fun activity for kids of all ages. They also sell pellets so you can feed the ducks while you're there.

Camping Options
We rented an RV site, but one thing we loved was that friends without campers could still join us by renting one of the campground's camper rentals. Whether you're an experienced camper or trying camping for the first time, there are accommodations for everyone.
Splash Pad & Water Slide
If you have younger kids, the splash pad and water slide are absolute must-do activities. Even though we experienced some rainy weather during our trip, the kids still managed to enjoy plenty of water fun. Since my children are sensitive to spray sunscreen, we prefer using a mineral-based sunscreen that can be rubbed in instead.
While there are specialty water shoes available, we typically stick with Crocs. They're incredibly versatile, easy to slip on and off, and can be quickly rinsed clean after a muddy adventure.

Rainy Camping? Here's What Saved Our Weekend
Mother Nature had other plans during part of our trip, but thankfully we came prepared. Instead of grilling in the rain, we made meals ahead of time that were easy to reheat.
Our Easy Camping Menu:
Pulled Pork Sandwiches: We smoked the pork at home before the trip and simply reheated it in a crockpot at camp. It was incredibly easy and perfect for a rainy evening.
Sloppy Joes: I made the meat earlier in the week, froze it, and packed it in our camper. It thawed perfectly and made another quick, hearty dinner.
Hot Dogs on a Stick: These were a huge hit for lunch, and the roasting sticks doubled as marshmallow sticks later that night for s'mores.
